Introduced in 1954 as an entry-level version of the Les Paul, the Les Paul Junior graduated from kids bedrooms, to garage bands, to club and arena stages through the course of three decades as it became a favorite not only with beginners, but with professional players, too. The bare-bones, slab-bodied, single-cutaway electric earned the respect of rock and rollers in particular, and became a punk favorite in the late '70s and early '80s, but also turned up in the hands of a surprisingly diverse range of guitar stars. As simple as the Les Paul Junior was in design and construction, its basic cornerstone ingredients added up to create a robust and toneful instrument. The marriage of hot, raw single-coil P-90 pickup, resonant mahogany body, and sturdy glued-in neck created a guitar with surprising reserves of depth and power, at an extremely appealing price. Now the Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Special SC Electric Guitar reproduces the simple pleasures of that 55-year-old classic, while updating the format with a second pickup (in the neck position, a la the Les Paul Special), and improved hardware in the form of a Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece combination. Case sold separately

In 1954, Gibson introduced the first Les Paul Junior. At that time, it had a retail price of $120 and proved to be a very successful model. With its single pickup, simplified controls, flat-top, and distinctive tone, it made the now classic Les Paul model affordable to most every guitarist.Epiphone has reissued this classic design with many of the same great features that made it so popular—and a few upgrades.Original Juniors were equipped with a single P-90 pickup. This limited edition Epi features a single humbucking pickup. Unlike older P-90 single coil pups, this custom-made 700T humbucker is noise-free and specifically designed for the bridge position. With its ceramic magnet and slightly overwound coils, this pickup has clear highs with increased definition and no muddiness. The pickup is controlled by a single volume and single tone control. The LP Junior features Epiphone's SlimTaper(tm) neck profile that's both fast and comfortable to play. To add bite as well as stability, the neck is made of hard maple and bolted to a select mahogany body. The fingerboard is made of solid rosewood for smooth, long-lasting performance and is fitted with 22 medium-jumbo frets. Like all Epiphones, the headstock is angled at 14° to provide excellent downward string pressure on the nut without the use of string-tree gadgets that often cause tuning problems. To provide further tuning stability and accuracy, the Junior features deluxe 14:1 covered machine heads. For accurate intonation, the vintage-style wrap-around Stopbar Bridge has adjustment screws at each post. For long-lasting performance and playability, an adjustable truss rod inside the neck allows for neck relief adjustment. Other features include nickel plated hardware and a "Limited Edition" logo on the back of the headstock. As with all Epiphones, the limited edition Les Paul Junior is backed by Epiphone's Limited Lifetime Warranty and 24/7/365 Customer Service.
